Welcome to my little part of the webbed world. I'm the senior pastor of Discovery Church (www.dcclive.com) and I have a spiritual counseling/direction and coaching ministry. At night I try to be a couch potato and entrepreneur but my young children won't let it happen. From leadership rants to the beauty of my wife and 3 little girls expect this blog to be as paradoxical as my personality. Oh yeah, I'm speaking for myself on this blog and no one else.

Sister steals brother chair. Sister says "I
didn't see your name on it." Brother takes
permanent marker and writes his name on the
chair. Both in BIG trouble!! Actually happened to me and my brother. Sorry your example reminded me. The story has been a source of laughter for many years between us.
Your point is spot on. We can feel and acknowledge the emotions but more often than not, we will have to exercise self-control.

My prayers are with you, Brother. Thank you for reminding us all that the strength of the Lord delights in working through our weakness (when we recognize that weakness ourselves).

Chris,I will most definitely join you in these prayers, knowing that joining in prayer with another brother in Christ has His blessing all over it especially when the focus is to grow His Kingdom and not to make ourselves "feel good" about ourselves. I think that is one of the greatest misconceptions in ministry - that we focus on how "it" makes us feel. Some of Paul's greatest ha-ha moments in his ministry came when he did not "feel" that he was accomplishing what God/Jesus set out for him to accomplish, but those were pivotal moments even for us to read about today. Paul even referred to himself as a "wretched man" when he did not "feel" so good about his ministry. Just my thoughts.... Take care. Love you, Brandi and the girls.

I understand the feelings that Easter brings, the joy of what my Savior did for me but also the pain He suffered for me. I know He would have done it all if there had only be me Love you back.

I think the difference could best be described this was: Intercessory prayer is you carrying the emotion from the need for that person whether they know it or not as you pray. Formational prayer is about assisting them to position themselves in the presence of Jesus. Both have their place though.

Sharmen

I think the church has gotten stuck and failed to adjust to the pace of culture. We are in reality the ones left behind. And I don't wan to catch up but instead lead it into renewal. I'm talking about that tomorrow night. Our church is meeting on Saturday nights as we search for our next step regarding property.
